We are grateful for the relationships we have with our Jewish Peoplehood program partners, some of which have lasted over 40 years. Every two weeks or so, approximately 100 of our elders are invited on a trip to visit these communities and they share in food, music and lovely discussions and interaction. These trips are what our seniors look forward to the most as they benefit greatly from the warmth of the communities which host them.
Additionally, Project Ezra provides hundreds of elders with food and community with which to celebrate the Jewish holidays. Before Rosh Hashanah we give out a honey cake, challah and a jar of honey and before Passover we deliver approximately 300 food packages full of festive and kosher foods.
Holidays can be lonely, we strive to ensure that every elder in our community can enjoy a festive holiday experience, a shared meal and the warmth of Project Ezra. We provide seniors with a large Rosh Hashanah luncheon service, a model Passover Seder and a Thanksgiving meal at a host synagogue.
